What does the company do well? Social Bakers has been our go-to tool for monitoring owned media channels, providing excellent network coverage for the typical range of 'well-known' social networks, user comments posted to the pages and a wealth of associated metadata to accompany the content to give insight and clarity on what is driving conversation and how users interact with brand-owned channels.
What does the company not do well? I believe that Social Bakers have vastly expanded their functionality to include sentiment analysis and earned media monitoring too, to position itself alongside some of the more multi-faceted monitoring and analysis suites that are on the market currently. However, these additions came too late for us as end-users - this lack of rich, and powerful data meant we had to look to rival solutions to get a sensible, usable and fully functioning tool. Conclusion: is this an indication that Social Bakers' product roadmap is not robust, and they are behind the curve when it comes to staying competitive? Only time will tell.
What do you wish you had known about the company before using? Social Bakers has grown into a fully fledged monitoring and evaluation solution. Great, but a little late to the party, I wish we'd known what their capabilities and strategy was for the future, that could have swayed us to stick with them.
