What does the company do well?
The user interface is straightforward to use. I don't think that I've gone to the help section a single time and I've used the app for two and a half years. Billy is like the literal opposite of accounting in general, which is unnecessarily dull and convoluted. I always feel cheerful when I'm logging into my billy control panel. I can see lots of extra information such as annual numbers with the current year on year growth, visual charts for top clients and so on. Each feature is where you expect to find it, and I save lots of time with templating and duplication. My customers also get a really attractive, professional looking invoice. I switched from different accounting software, and it was like going from web 1.0 to 2.0, light years ahead.
What does the company not do well?
The only thing that I'd ask for is more integration with third parties. For example, my business is UK based, and last time I checked, I couldn't connect my bank account to the app which would save time. US customers already have this. That said, it's not a big deal as I can add payments reasonably quickly. Maybe UK banking integration is in the pipeline because I regularly see new features and developments added to the app.
What do you wish you had known about the company before using?
Er. I wish I'd found Billy earlier? Seriously, my previous accounting app was a disaster.
