What does the company do well? Simplifies time tracking through various options for clocking in and out regardless of location. The system works very well via computer, mobile app and other methods. You can track by client, project, class, billable, etc. You can add notes, make edits, track location and more. It offers a lot of ways to customize and track the data and syncs with many apps such as QuickBooks Online. I have found it to be very reliable and in almost a year of almost daily use, I have never experienced any downtime.
What does the company not do well? Customization of settings can be confusing. While there are plenty of help documents available, most of the time they don't answer my questions and support has to get involved. While support is very friendly, they don't always understand what I need but they do their best and are generally knowledgeable with no problem admitting when they need to research something. The QBO sync is great for payroll but can be messy for billable time if you have a lot of projects, I found the way that it imported into my invoices was not visually appealing so I stopped syncing the app. There are a lot of report options but whenever I need a custom report it takes a lot of trial and error to get the data the way I need it.
What do you wish you had known about the company before using? I wish I had a better understanding of the QuickBooks Online sync nuances and limitations. The pricing is great for a solopreneur or freelancer but it can get expensive very quickly when more employees are needed which can make it cost prohibitive for a small business.
