What does the company do well?
What does the company not do well?
Everything. I began selling merchandise at festivals, and didn't know which to choose, but Paypal had the brand recognition, so I went with that. They held most of my money for a month for "security reasons." I couldn't access it. So I tried purchasing items with Paypay to get to the money that way. Paypal debited my account, and then withdrew the same amount from my checking account. I had to go through the bank to get credited because Paypal's customer service (per se) just sends form letters. Nobody actually attempts to address your problems. So, immediately my account was locked for "suspicious activity" (it was Paypal's activity, remember) and I couldn't access the money any more. They kept contacting me to "validate" my account, and I kept following their instructions, to no avail. I kept submitting requests for help and I kept getting the same form letters. Finally someone sent me a survey, and I blasted them for not having an actual customer service department. Their response was to move the remaining balance to my checking account (I had already mentally written it off) but keep the account locked. I now use Square, with nothing but POSITIVE things to say about them.
What do you wish you had known about the company before using?
I wish I'd known they have no customer service, and that your problems are your own. I wish I'd known they freeze your money for a period of time before releasing it to you. I wish I'd known how much better Square is - I had a show this weekend, and the money was in my bank account Monday morning.
