What does the software or service do well?
This software was implemented for our payroll and as our applicant tracking system this year. I can only speak on the ATS. The layout is nice, it's mostly user friendly and has mobile functionality. Workday also has a good reporting feature.
What does the software or service not do well?
I think there could be improvements on the ATS, however, I do understand that some of the features have to be customized. Learning how the workflows operate can be a bit confusing. Sorting candidates by application date is challenging. I also do not like that the hiring manager has visibility to see all candidates and their resumes. The business process flow is very long, there should be ways to bypass/override in certain situations.
What do you wish you had known about the software or service before using?
I wish that I would have known about the system limitations that it has and that it wasn't really intended to be an ATS. It was a very hard transition from our previous ATS to this one.
Have you used a competitor to the software or service? If so, how does it compare?
Yes. Prior to Workday, we used Taleo and I have also used UltiPro, Brassring and Jobvite. In all honesty, I liked Taleo, UltiPro and Jobvite more than I do Workday. The functionality was just better, more streamlined and you had more options to customize. With Workday, you have to wait for a new update to come out and that's frustrating. It just doesn't have all the bells and whistles that an ATS should have.
