What does the software or service do well?
They do a good job of full stack BI, integrating DW, ETL, and Reporting together. They also excel in the ETL realm with their Elasticubes which help visualize transformations and data flows well especially when data and tables are complex and numerous.
What does the software or service not do well?
They don't have a tech support line that you can call. Not at all. Not ever. When you have a tech issue that requires higher level techs (which we did multiple times), we had to create a ticket and wait for that ticket to be escalated to their higher level techs which are only located in Israel and come online at the end of the day if you're in the Americas.
What do you wish you had known about the software or service before using?
We wish we would have known about the support shortcoming because we had 4 - 5 critical outages that we couldn't recover from ourselves and causes a large amount of down time.
Have you used a competitor to the software or service? If so, how does it compare?
We are now on Domo which does everything Sisense did well but also has great support. We transitioned away from Sisense last year. Full disclosure, we were on self-hosted Sisense and cannot speak to their SaaS cloud offering which might be just fine.
