What does MailerLite do well?
The user interface is much easier to use than MailChimp or ActiveCampaign. It is perfect if you have a small business or are starting a secondary business (I am a day designer and freelance author at night) and do not have much time to invest in managing email newsletter campaigns. They have made a great optimization for the main use case and have not packed the features that I will learn or that I will have time to administer, even if I knew how to use them. In particular, I feel much more confident that I am sending my newsletters to the right people because of how I segment the audience through tagging instead of keeping separate lists. Oh yes, the price is also much better.
What does MailerLite not do well?
The search function when I look for answers can be a bit cumbersome and not as intuitive as I would like. Because I don't know the 'correct' terminology, sometimes I find myself reading answers that have no relation to the question I am trying to ask.
What do you wish you had known about MailerLite before using?
Mailerlite automation has made my life MUCH easier. I keep two email lists for two pseudonyms of different authors, and with the ease of configuring groups and automation sequences, I have been able to configure super easy funnels to maintain and schedule regular emails for all my subscribers. I love being able to let things run in the background without worrying about them or having to review them.
