What does the software or service do well? Media Temple's hosting packages make it easy to start a scalable web server that can run WordPress or any other web platform. The Managed WordPress packages are affordable.
What does the software or service not do well? Sometimes the support team doesn't have exactly the best answers to my questions, but the knowledge base usually has an article on how to deal with specific problems. It's not exactly "you're on your own", but sometimes it feels like that.
What do you wish you had known about the software or service before using? I would recommend using Media Temple if you need to run a bigger website that gets a lot of traffic. The pricing is a good value is you need speed and scalability. For smaller, more basic installs of WordPress you can get away with a lighter-weight solution like Bluehost.
Have you used a competitor to the software or service? If so, how does it compare? I've used WP Engine, Cloudways, Bluehost and some other web hosting servers in the past. Media Temple is comparable to all of them, but I think where it shines is its speed and scalability. The interface could use a refresh.
