What does the software or service do well?
So far, as a new I.T. company starting up from scratch, Zoho has helped with everything we need to get every part of our business up and going. Everything integrates well, is easy to use, customizable, and has every feature we need. But most important, it works from any device or platform. Linux, Windows, Apple, Android, Chrome, and even ReactOS. It just works no matter where or from what I have, I can depend on it working to get the job done. I can create invoices, pay out invoices, create estimates, convert estimates to invoices, all from my phone if needed for those unexpected moments, or I can have it running on a POS system ready to go. And being an I.T. person, I use Apple, Windows, Linux, and Android all day every day, so I know I can depend on it working.
What does the software or service not do well?
It could have more merchant services that tie in which don't have bad reviews, even if they cost more or have higher requirements, but it does still have the flexibility to work with whichever you choose and this has not caused any issues with not being able to do our job.
What do you wish you had known about the software or service before using?
I can only say I wish I knew more about each of what they offer. I started off with their Access software for remote support, and didn't know what else they offered. So it took building it piece by piece before I finally got everything we could afford, and use.
Have you used a competitor to the software or service? If so, how does it compare?
We were using TeamViewer, which was very expensive and we had a few issues with from time to time. Not enough to leave, but the price was hurting. For Invoicing we used NCH which was very plain, and didn't have a lot of flexibility and of course only worked with Windows. Which was fine, and worked, but it wasn't very professional. And of course, the original was Log Me In. Loved it, until they hit my credit card with $400 and said the next month it was going to $700. So it was a very quick "Nope", called my bank for the unauthorized charge since I was never notified of the price increase and didn't use it, canceled it immediately at the time of the charge, and never looked back and have recommended that others do the same. Being told ahead of time I would have weighed my options, but doing it without notice, bad business. And thousands complained exactly as I did. So far, Zoho has had perfect customer service, notifications for everything, and actually works better than any used before besides Simple Help which costs a whole lot more.
