What does Sprout Social do well? Sprout Social lets us run reports on social media analytics across multiple platforms. This can be challenging because native tools often possess limited functionality and have different metrics that are hard to compare. Sprout Social quickly can assemble campaign wide reports that would take far more time to assemble.
What does Sprout Social not do well? I doesn't have a huge feature set or vast variety of uses, at least for my organization, but what it accomplishes (reporting) it does well and saves us a great deal of time. It also can be on the pricey side if you have multiple users who need the tool (the standard plan alone is $99 a month per user at the time of writing this review).
What do you wish you had known about Sprout Social before using? Make use of the 30 day trial, and ask your account rep to show you more of the features surrounding automation and social listening. It is easier to train your users on these features on onboarding than trying to get them to use it down the line.
Have you used a competitor to Sprout Social? If so, how does it compare? I used Hootsuite for a few years for social publishing and some reporting, but I didn't find the interface particularly user friendly. Sprout Social has a cleaner, more intuitive platform that I enjoy using and managing for clients.
