What does Salesforce do well? As far as pricing goes, I cannot answer any questions there as I was not the decision maker and have no idea the costs associated with Salesforce. As far as my day to day work flow goes, I use it daily. For moving sales along in the pipeline, keeping track of touches (emails, calls, linkedin) I do for prospects, I use it for prospecting as well as logging all information for a closed won deal (or why a deal was not won!).
What does Salesforce not do well? Half my company uses lightning version and the other half uses classic- which can get confusing internally when different dashboards are being run. Also, I've run into bugs several times while using the platform and I get errors while trying to save data and have to go through and redo all of it again, which is super frusturating.
What do you wish you had known about Salesforce before using? To be fair, again, I was not a part of the decision making process. What I do wish is that we got an updated meeting with a client success or customer success manager to walk us through capabilities and functionality, to ensure we're using Salesforce to its highest capabilities!
Have you used a competitor to Salesforce? If so, how does it compare? Have not! Both companies I've worked for have used SFDC.
