What does Microsoft Project do well? Microsoft Project is great at scheduling and tracking projects and manpower needed on the individual project or all projects. It worked for our company when we had a last minute request for proposal and needed to quickly create a schedule showing a detailed breakdown of manpower and detailing the flow of the project and when important events would occur. We were able to quickly put something together in a short amount of time and ended up getting the project.
What does Microsoft Project not do well? There isn't anything it doesn't specifically do well, it is just a learning curve to figure out how to use it and become savvy.
What do you wish you had known about Microsoft Project before using? There is going to be time needed to learn and master the program
Have you used a competitor to Microsoft Project? If so, how does it compare? No, nothing has been used other than Excel which isn't the same type of program and doesn't specifically meet the needs of scheduling
