What does Justworks do well?
Excellent onboarding process. Very low-touch payroll process (for salaried workers - not sure how complicated hourly is but it didn't seem to be during training). Offers on-demand health resources for employees even if they do not enroll in company health insurance plans. Customer service is concise, prompt, and helpful.
What does Justworks not do well?
They do not have as many health plan options as our previous PEO and do not offer complimentary fitness benefits in the Chicago area - they only offer it in New York at this time.
What do you wish you had known about Justworks before using?
I think we were given a really good introduction to the platform and its capabilities upfront so no complaints here.
Have you used a competitor to Justworks? If so, how does it compare?
Yes, we switched to Justworks from Trinet due to a huge increase in Trinet's pricing. Justworks has been such a better deal for us because of the cheaper cost but also because the platform is so much easier to use. Trinet's customer service was hard to deal with the last year we were with them as well (2019). It would take them days to respond to an email. Justworks customer service has been very prompt. I also manage payroll and don't have to submit it every week as long as everyone's salaries are the same and there are no bonuses. With Trinet I had to review and submit paperwork online by a specified day/time twice a month and they would not even send an email reminder to do so.
